A meeting with the delegation of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) was held at the Constitutional Court

On August 29, Deputy Chairperson of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan Sona Salmanova met with the delegation led by Ditmir Bushati, head of the election observation mission of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) regarding the snap parliamentary elections to the Milli Majlis.

During the meeting, the guests were informed about the powers and functions of the Constitutional Court established by the Constitution and laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan in relation to snap parliamentary elections.

The delegation of the election observation mission was also informed in detail about the legal positions reflected in the decision of the Plenum, adopted on the basis of the request of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the compliance of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the dissolution of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the appointment of snap parliamentary elections on the basis of the resolution of the Milli Majlis of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated June 21, 2024.

Ditmir Bushati expressed gratitude for the information and spoke about the activities and goals of the election observation mission.

In conclusion, some legal issues related to the electoral process were discussed.

The meeting was attended by judges of the Constitutional Court and responsible employees of the Staff.
