On May 5, the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan hosted an event dedicated to the 94th Anniversary of the birth of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the founder of our modern independent state and the first national Constitution.

First, the memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev was honored with a minute of silence. Then the participants of the event watched a documentary dedicated to the abundant and comprehensive life of the leader, as well as individual moments of his multifaceted activities.

Taking the floor in front of the event participants, the chairman of the court Farhad Abdullayev told about the great role of the liberator - Heydar Aliyev, about his exceptional service to his people, embodied in history. It was noted that the National Leader Heydar Aliyev defended the integrity of modern independent Azerbaijan, its development and prosperity, as well as the recognition of the republic by the whole world.

F. Abdullayev recalled the achievements of our state both during the former Soviet Union and during the already independent Azerbaijan in the period when the wise political figure Heydar Aliyev led the republic. The high assessment of political leaders regarding the assertiveness of the National Leader and his wise leadership of the country was mentioned. They said: "The Azerbaijani people are a happy people, because they have such a leader as Heydar Aliyev".

It was especially noted that in 1988-1992 Azerbaijan stood on the verge of collapse and destruction. In 1993, after the return of Heydar Aliyev at the insistence of the people, Azerbaijan, which had been attacked, took the road of development. With the return of Heydar Aliyev to his homeland, political stability returned to the republic, all conditions were created for successful reform in all sectors of the republic. At that time, the foundations of the Republic of Azerbaijan were laid as a legal and democratic state; the main directions of the development of the republic, as a civil society enjoying equal rights, were defined. 

Speaking about the rich state experience of Heydar Aliyev, the importance of his political heritage, F. Abdullayev noted that with the direct participation of the brilliant leader the first national Constitution of independent Azerbaijan was developed. The Constitution, adopted by referendum in 1995, opened the way for the development of statehood in the republic, the construction of a legal and secular state. Participation of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev in the development of the Constitution is the most important event in our modern history, as well as this invaluable contribution of a great personality to the Azerbaijani statehood.

Speaking about Heydar Aliyev as a genius person, the Chairperson of the Constitutional Court noted that the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev continues to implement successfully the ideas of the Great Leader. It was noted that, irrevocably continuing the political line of the Great Leader, Azerbaijan has been developing massively under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, and has found a worthy place among world countries. In recent years, as a successful host of numerous international political, cultural, and sporting events, Azerbaijan has demonstrated a well-deserved trust at the international level.

F. Abdullayev concluded his speech with the following words: "We are proud that we are citizens of the state, revived by Heydar Aliyev. The immortalized ideas of the genius person Heydar Aliyev still bring success to our people today. "
