A delegation of the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan led by chairman Farhad Abdullayev visited Kazakhstan on August 28-September 2. The visit took place at the invitation of chairman of the Kazakh Constitutional Council, Igor Rogov.
As part of the visit the Azerbaijani delegation participated in an international conference in Astana devoted to the Constitutional Day of Kazakhstan.
President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev made remarks at the opening of the conference entitled “The Constitution is a basis of social modernization of state and society.”
The conference participants discussed a wide range of issues, including relations between international courts and organizations of constitutional oversight, right of citizens to apply to Constitutional Court.
The conference continued in Almaty. Here Farhad Abdullayev made a presentation on ensuring constitutional legitimacy by the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan.
The conference brought together chairmen and judges of organizations of constitutional oversight, heads of leading international organizations, including chairman of the Council of Europe`s Venice Commission Gianni Buquicchio.
Azerbaijan`s ambassador to Kazakhstan Zakir Hashimov was present in the meetings and other events held during the visit.
