On September 16-17, 2021 Chairman of the
Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan Farhad Abdullayev by the
invitation of Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of
Indonesia Anwar Usman participated at the 2nd Conference of the
Constitutional and Supreme Courts of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation
and Observer States on "Human Rights and the Constitution: The
Contribution of the Judiciary in Muslim Countries" organized online.
H.E. Mr. Joko
Widodo, President of the Republic of Indonesia, delivered an opening
speech at the conference.
The event was
attended by representatives of Turkey, Russia, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Malaysia,
Jordan, Egypt, Thailand, Algeria and other countries, as well as the Venice
Commission of the Council of Europe. There were reports and discussions on the
role of justice in the development of humanism and democracy; the role of
constitutional justice in the protection of human rights and democracy; modern
constitutionalism and human rights and other topics.
