On August 4 a meeting with Turkish Ambassador to
Azerbaijan Cahit Bagci was held at the Constitutional Court of the Republic of
Azerbaijan.
Chairman of Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev
congratulated Cahit Bagci in connection with his appointment as the new
ambassador of fraternal Turkey to our country. Chairman wished to ambassador
success in his honorable and responsible activities, which will serve to expand
relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey. Farhad Abdullayev expressed confidence
that the diplomat will make a valuable contribution to the development of ties
between the two fraternal countries.
It was stressed that as a result of the successful
policy implemented by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and
President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, relations between our
countries are developing rapidly.
Chairman noted that the news about the severe forest
fires that began on July 29 in various regions of fraternal Turkey and their
consequences extremely saddened the employees of Constitutional Court. By the
instructions of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, several teams of
fire-fighting forces of Ministry of Emergency Situations and special equipment went
to a fraternal country to extinguish fires in Turkey and prevent their spread. The
State and people of Azerbaijan, as always, are now in solidarity and are close
to the fraternal Turkish people.
Expressing gratitude to Chairman of Constitutional
Court Farhad Abdullayev for high hospitality and congratulations, Ambassador of
Turkey Cahit Bagci spoke about the great role of diplomatic missions in the
development and expansion of fraternal ties between the two countries. Ambassador
thanked for the support of fraternal Azerbaijan in extinguishing the
large-scale fires that occurred in the southern provinces of Turkey. The
diplomat noted that our States and peoples are always next to each other.
At the meeting, it was noted that the valiant
Azerbaijani army under the leadership of the President, victorious Supreme
Commander Ilham Aliyev won a historic victory in the 44-day Patriotic War for
the restoration of territorial integrity and liberation from the Armenian
occupation of the ancestral lands of our country. The Turkish State, which has
demonstrated its brotherly support of Azerbaijan in righteous struggle, has
once again proved to be a State defending international law and international
justice. The protection by the Republic of Turkey of the right cause of our
State and people in the struggle for liberation from Armenian occupation of the
ancestral lands of the Republic of Azerbaijan is a true example of brotherhood.
The diplomat, in particular, noted that in the 44-day
Patriotic War, the Turkish people were next to the Azerbaijani people. All of
us have once again witnessed that the sayings of the great leader Heydar Aliyev
"One nation, two states", as well as Mustafa Kemal Ataturk "The
joy of Azerbaijan is our joy, sorrow - our sorrow" are an unshakable
truth.
Noting that relations between our countries, built on
the basis of high-level cooperation and brotherhood, are inviolable, the
ambassador said that he would make every effort to further strengthen these
ties. The diplomat said that during the trip to the territories liberated from
occupation, he witnessed the grave consequences of the 30-year occupation
policy of Armenia.
It was stressed that the signing of the Declaration on
Allied Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Turkey
in the city of Shusha on June 15 of this year will remain in our memory as a
significant historical event. The Shusha Declaration is guided by the
principles of independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, inviolability
of internationally recognized borders, non-interference in the internal affairs
of States, is aimed at protecting and ensuring national interests, is important
from the point of view of determining political and legal mechanisms of allied
relations between two countries implementing an independent foreign policy.
It was brought to the attention that the Baku Declaration,
signed as a result of the first tripartite meeting between the Presidents of
the Parliaments of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Pakistan on July 27, is an indicator
of the strengthening of ties between our countries in all areas.
At the end of the
meeting, it was noted that the Azerbaijani-Turkish brotherhood, friendship is
eternal, comprehensive cooperation will continue to develop successfully.
