Participation of the representatives of several States of the world in the international conference on “Law-governed State and constitutional justice: values and priorities” held in the Baku city, speaks about importance of this event. Constitution is a basis of fundamental laws for each State. Today, it is 20 years of establishment of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This is very significant event in the history of independence of Azerbaijan. Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan successfully cooperates with international organizations, permanently develops and open for innovations.
The mentioned opinions were talked by Thomas Meyer the head of the program “Approach to European standards in the sphere of law in Southern Caucasus” of the German International Cooperation Society (GiZ) in his interview to Azertac.
Thomas Meyer indicated that, wide opportunities were made for efficient activity of German International Cooperation Society in Azerbaijan. It’s been long years that our company has been in close and business cooperation with Azerbaijan. We have implemented a number of projects with the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan, which we have cooperated with for decades. I believe that this conference, which is being held today with the participation of State authorities and judges from foreign countries, will make a great contribution to the expansion of cooperation.
Thomas Meyer said that the functioning of Constitutional Court is of great importance in the legal system, particularly in the protection of human rights. He congratulated the whole staff of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan in connection with the anniversary and said he was pleased to attend the conference.
