At the invitation of the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Czech Republic Pavel Rychetsky the delegation of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan headed by the Chairman Farhad Abdullayev visited Prague to attend the meeting of the chairmen of the Organization of the Conference of European Constitutional Courts, as well as the international conference dedicated to the 25th Anniversary of the joint Constitutional Courts of the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
The meeting of the chairmen of the constitutional courts of Europe discussed the draft amendments proposed to the Charter of this structure, the issues of information exchange between the constitutional courts in connection with the cases accepted for proceeding, the place of international legal norms in judicial decisions and other legal approaches.
At the extended conference, were heard reports related to the application of theoretical approaches in the institute of modern constitutional review, the development of constitutional justice, the role of constitutional courts in improving of national legislation and etc., an exchange of views took place.
At the Conference the information concerning the legal positions reflected in the decisions of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the applied modern legal approaches and principles have been provided.
During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation held meetings and discussions on judicial cooperation with the chairmen and judges of the constitutional courts of a number of foreign countries.
The event was also attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Czech Republic Farid Shafiev.
