On May 14-18, 2017 the delegation headed by Mrs. Sona Salmanova, Deputy-Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan visited the St. Petersburg city for participation at the International Conference organized at the initiative of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation on a theme: “Constitutional justice: the doctrine and practice”, and also at the VII St. Petersburg International Legal Forum organized by the Ministry of Justice with support of the President of the Russian Federation.
On May 16 at opening of the International Conference the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Russian Federation V. Zorkin and the Minister of Justice A. Konovalov welcomed the guests - representatives of the constitutional and supreme courts of many foreign countries, and also representatives of the highest state authorities of the Russian Federation, judicial systems, representatives of system of justice, the famous scientists-jurists.
S.Salmanova delivered a speech on “Contribution of the constitutional justice to formation of law-enforcement practice in the Republic of Azerbaijan”. A number of topical issues of the constitutional justice have also been listened and discussed at the Conference.
On May 17 began the VII St. Petersburg International Legal Forum. The Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev delivered a speech at the Forum.
During a visit S. Salmanova was accompanied by Sabiba Aliyeva, Deputy Secretary General of the Constitutional Court, Humay Efendiyeva, Head of Department of the Criminal and Administrative Law and Nigar Dunyamaliyeva, Deputy Head of the Department of International Law and International Cooperation.
