Chairman of Azerbaijan`s Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev and Head
of the Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev have attended the opening of the judicial
year of the European Court in Strasbourg, France on January 29.
The event brought together more than 150 leading judicial figures from
across Europe.
Prior to the meeting, the Azeri chairmen
have met with President of the European Court of Human Rights Jean-Paul Costa.
Costa highly praised the cooperation between the Courts.
Abdullayev said the Constitutional Court
attaches special attention to experience of the European Court and always
refers to decisions of the Strasbourg Court in major principles.

Ramiz Rzayev briefed Costa on legal reforms in the country, saying “the Supreme
Court also pays particular attention to the experience of the European Court”.
Abdullayev and Rzayev have also met with a number of judicial figures of
Europe to discuss cooperation prospects.
