On October 17, at the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a meeting was held with a delegation led by the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Mehmet Akarcan, who was visiting our country.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan Farhad Abdullayev, welcoming the guests, noted that today relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye are based on the slogan of the Great Leader of Heydar Aliyev "One Nation, Two States" and unbreakable friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey are successfully developing in all directions. The successful policy pursued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev and the President of the Republic of Türkiye Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the strategic cooperation of these two countries, which have great geopolitical and economic potential, will ensure peace and security in the region, and also aimed at further strengthening the economic development of the region, and these relations, established on the basis of high-level cooperation, are constantly strengthening.

It was noted that during the 44-day Patriotic War and during the anti-terrorist measures held by the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan in September this year, the authorities and the people of Turkey showed their solidarity with Azerbaijan to the whole world, as well as defending the legal right of our state and people in the fight against the Armenian occupation and provocations. The glorious Victory achieved in the Karabakh war is a historical Victory not only of Azerbaijan, but of the entire Turkic world.

It was emphasized that the legal force of the Constitution of our country will always operate on the lands of our ancestors, already liberated from occupation.

It was noted that, as in all areas between our two countries, co-operation in the judicial and legal sphere continues at a qualitatively new level, and the existing relations are further strengthened as a result of joint activities.

At the meeting, Farhad Abdullayev informed on the creation and activities of the Constitutional Court after the adoption in 1995 of the first Constitution of the Independent Republic of Azerbaijan on the initiative and leadership of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev.

Further, the Chairman of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Mehmet Akarcan said that the restoration of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan was met in Türkiye with great joy, that the leadership and people of the Republic of Türkiye provided moral and political support to Azerbaijan and that Turkey, as always, was and will continue with the fraternal Azerbaijani people supporting Azerbaijan in the future.

It was noted that the actions of humanitarian aid, carried out by order of the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva, to those who affected by the strong earthquake that occurred in southeastern Türkiye this year, and the support of hundreds of thousands of Azerbaijanis who joined this national action was highly appreciated by the fraternal Turkish people. The support of a compassionate, humanistic, patriotic Azerbaijani woman and our people to the Turkish people, who survived the great tragedy, once again proved the eternity of unshakable fraternal and friendly relations between the two peoples.

It was emphasized that cooperation between the courts makes a great contribution to the development of bilateral relations, and special attention is paid to strengthening these relations.

During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on issues of mutual interest, and the importance of further strengthening co-operation in the judicial and legal sphere was noted.

President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Mehmet Akarcan expressed gratitude on behalf of the delegation for the warm welcome and detailed information.

At the end of the meeting, the guests were introduced to the building of the Constitutional Court and memorable photographs were taken.
