Chairman of the Constitutional Court attended the Congress of the World Conference on Constitutional Justice

Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan Farhad Abdullayev took part in the 5th Congress of the World Conference on Constitutional Justice on the topic "Constitutional Justice and Peace."

The delegation of the Constitutional Court on October 4-8 paid a visit to the Indonesian city of Denpasar at the invitation of the World Conference on Constitutional Justice and the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Indonesia.

The congress was attended by heads of the highest state bodies of Indonesia, delegations of constitutional courts of 119 countries participating in the World Conference on Constitutional Justice, as well as representatives of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe. Azerbaijan is a full participant in the World Conference on Constitutional Justice.

Indonesian President Joko Widodo spoke at the opening of the event.

In the practical part of the congress, representatives of the constitutional courts of the countries participating in the organization presented reports on the role of constitutional justice in ensuring the rule of law and protecting constitutional values, the possibility of direct appeal to the constitutional court, the importance of monitoring the legality of the electoral procedure during elections and on other legal issues, discussions were held.

Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan Farhad Abdullayev made a report at the congress on the topic "Basic Principles: Protection of Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law as the First Condition for Social Stability."

After the Congress, a meeting of the General Assembly of the World Conference on Constitutional Justice was held.

Within the framework of the visit, official bilateral meetings were held with the Chief Justice of the Constitutional Court of Indonesia, judges and senior executives of the Administrative Office of the Constitutional Court of this country, an exchange of views on issues of mutual cooperation in the judicial and legal field took place.
