On Verification and Confirmation of the Results of Additional Elections to the

Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Republic held on 26 July 1998 in

Shusha – Jabrail – Hojavend Electoral District N45

The Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan Republic composed of Kh.Hajiyev (Chairman), Judges: F.Babayev, B.Garibov, R.Gvaladze, S.Salmanova, A.Sultanov, E.Mamedov,

joined in the proceedings by: J. Veliyev, Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC); N.Safarov, S.Kerimov, K.Shafiyev and A.Seyidov, members of the CEC;

has examined the decision of the Central Election Commission of 3 August 1998 N 84/307 on results of the elections to the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Republic held in Shusha – Jabrail – Hojavendi electoral district N45 on 26 July 1998.

The document contained the CEC’s results of the additional elections to the Milli Majlis held in Shusha – Jabrail – Hojavend electoral district N45 on 26 July 1998. It follows from the presented document that 41.265 (89 %) of 46.352 registered voters of 79 polling stations of the electoral district participated in the elections. 25.339 voters of them voted in favour of the candidate to the deputy of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Republic, Farzaliyev Abbasgulu Mamed oglu. The given conforms to the requirements of Article 74 of the Law of Azerbaijan Republic “On Elections to the Milli Majlis”. It follows from the submitted documents that the CEC observed the requirements of Article 78 of the Law of Azerbaijan Republic “On Elections to the Milli Majlis”.

Being guided by Article 86 of the Constitution of Azerbaijan Republic, Article 72.3 of the Law “On Constitutional Court”, the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan Republic

To confirm the results of additional elections to the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Republic held in Shusha – Jabrail – Hojavend electoral district N45 on 26 July 1998 in accordance with Article 80 of the Law of Azerbaijan Republic “On Elections to the Milli Majlis”.
