A delegation headed by the Chairman of the
Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Farhad Abdullayev, by the
invitation of the Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Türkiye, Kadir Özkaya visited Istanbul on April 25-26 to
participate in a symposium on the topic "The Future of Constitutional
Justice in the 21st Century" on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary
of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Türkiye.
During the official part of the event, the President
of the Republic of Türkiye, Mr. Recep Tayyip
Erdogan, greeted the participants at Dolmabahçe Palace and took a commemorative
photo with them.
At the beginning of the symposium, Kadir Özkaya,
President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Türkiye, delivered an opening speech, welcoming the chairmen
of constitutional review bodies from 34 countries, judges, and other guests.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Constitutional
Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Farhad Abdullayev, congratulated the
Constitutional Court of the Republic of Türkiye on the 63rd anniversary of its
establishment and expressed confidence in its continued efforts in the field of
law and justice, protection of human rights and freedoms, and ensuring the
supremacy of constitutional principles in its future activities.
In the practical part of the symposium, reports were
heard and a broad exchange of views was held on the future of constitutional
justice in the 21st century, constitutional justice in the digital
era, new challenges and opportunities in constitutional justice, as well as
other legal issues.
Within the framework of the event, on April 27, at the
meeting of the Constitutional Courts of the member countries of the Turkic
World Conference of Constitutional Jurisdictions (TURK-AY), the powers of
temporary chairmanship of the Organization were officially transferred to the
Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the visit, an exchange of views on judicial and legal issues was held with the chairmen and judges of constitutional control bodies of foreign countries.
