On March 2, Chairman of the Constitutional Court of
the Republic of Azerbaijan Farhad Abdullayev met with the head of the Baku
Office of the Council of Europe, Petr Sıch.
At the meeting, Farhad Abdullayev gave information
about the activities of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan,
noted the importance of effective legal cooperation between the Republic of
Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe, the reforms carried out in the judicial
and legal field in our country, the duties of the courts in the field of
ensuring human rights, as well as the cooperation with the European Court of
Human Rights and the importance of case-law of that court was emphasized.
Head of the Office of the Council of Europe in Baku, Petr
Sıch, informed about a
number of projects implemented on the basis of cooperation and mutual
understanding between Azerbaijan and the Council of Europe, and drew attention
to the special importance of further expanding this cooperation in the judicial
and legal field. He emphasized that he hopes that cooperation with the
Constitutional Court will be useful in the future and that he is interested in
the development of mutual relations.
In conclusion, the
Chairman noted the hope for the continuation of fruitful cooperation between
the structures, and wished to Petr Sıch success in his activities in our country.
