On September 27, 2021 at the Constitutional Court was
held an event dedicated to the Remembrance Day.
At the beginning of the event, which was attended by
judges and officials of the Administrative Office, the memory of the martyrs of
the Second Karabakh War was commemorated with a minute of silence.

stressed that in accordance with the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev of
December 2, 2020, every year September 27 is commemorated in Azerbaijan as a
sign of deep respect for our soldiers and officers who fought heroically in the
Patriotic War and sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our
country. It is commemorated as the Remembrance Day.
Chairman noted that the launch of large-scale military
operations by the Armenian armed forces against our country on September 27,
2020 made it necessary for our State and people to fight for the Motherland.
Our army's heroic repulse of the enemy's provocations and counterattack dealt a
crushing blow to the aggressor was a demonstration of our people's
determination to win.
As a result of military operations led by the President
of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev, our brave
army, which meets modern standards, in 44 days liberated about 300 settlements,
including 5 cities and 4 settlements and a number of strategic heights. The
military success of the Azerbaijani Army determined the outcome of the war and
ended the long occupation. On November 10, 2020, a trilateral statement confirming
the victory of Azerbaijan was signed. As a result of this historic document,
military operations were suspended.
At the event it was noted that the courage and high
patriotism of our soldiers and officers in the struggle for the sovereignty and
territorial integrity of our republic, the civilians working in the rear, the
people united around President Ilham Aliyev, the Great Victory of our brave
army will always have a special place in history of Azerbaijan.
At the event were remembered the words of President
Ilham Aliyev, who successfully continues the path started by the great leader
Heydar Aliyev, resolutely protects our national interests and ensures our
territorial integrity, in his address to the nation on November 8, 2020:
“Today, I also visited the grave of great leader Heydar Aliyev and paid my
respects. I said in my heart, I am happy to have fulfilled my father's will”.
In his speech, the chairman said that the high level
of army building, professional development of servicemen, provision of our
Armed Forces with modern equipment are the result of successful domestic and
foreign policy of President Ilham Aliyev. Our occupied lands have been liberated
at the cost of the blood and lives of our heroic martyrs, soldiers and
officers, veterans. In our country, servicemen, families of martyrs, veterans
are always given high attention and continuous care by both the State and the
people, their social needs are provided and improving their welfare is one of
the priorities of the State policy pursued by the President of Azerbaijan. In
this regard, the Head of State signed a number of decrees and orders, and
effective measures were taken.
Farhad Abdullayev noted that the enemy, which could
not withstand the victory march of the brave Azerbaijani Army, resorted to
provocations, fired on a number of cities and regions, settlements using
ballistic missiles and heavy artillery, and committed war crimes targeting
innocent civilians. He stressed the need for the organizers of these bloody
crimes to be punished. Speaking at the annual general discussions of the 76th
session of the UN General Assembly, President Ilham Aliyev said that Azerbaijan
itself ensured the implementation of UN Security Council resolutions.
Then the chairman spoke about the implementation of
social support and assistance actions on the initiative and instruction of the
First Vice President of Azerbaijan, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation
Mehriban Aliyeva, her special sensitivity, care and compassion for the families
of martyrs and veterans, constant attention to solving their problems. He noted
that all this has always been met with sympathy and love by our people.
At the same time, it was noted that on December 8,
2020, President Ilham Aliyev in connection with the protection of the
territorial integrity of Azerbaijan signed an order on the establishment of a
fund in order to support the war-wounded and families of martyrs -
"YASHAT" Foundation. This, in turn, allowed civil society to support
the improvement of the social situation of the families of martyrs, veterans
and participants of the Karabakh war.
It was noted that large-scale restoration and
construction work is being carried out and important projects are being
implemented in the liberated territories due to the brilliant victory in the
Great Patriotic War. The head of state laying the foundations of strategic
facilities and enterprises in these areas, focusing on the expansion of
construction work and the application of high technologies. This construction
work, the rapid restoration of our cities and villages demonstrates to the
whole world the strength of Azerbaijan, the strong will of our President, high
management skills, determination to build.
At the end of the event, Farhad Abdullayev expressed
confidence that the heroism of those who were killed during protection of our
territorial integrity and the liberation of our lands will always be an example
for our people and future generations.
On the Remembrance
Day, officials of the Constitutional Court visited the graves of martyrs of the
Great Patriotic War in the Second Alley of Honor.
