On August 27, 2021 Chairman of the Constitutional
Court of Azerbaijan Farhad Abdullayev took part in the international online
symposium “The internet era: the rule of law, the values of person, the State
independence”, dedicated to the 30th anniversary of independence and the
Constitution Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
At the beginning of the event, President of Kazakhstan
Kassym-Jomart Tokayev addressed the participants of the symposium.
Then, Chairman of the Constitutional Council of
Kazakhstan Kairat Mami, Chairman of the Venice Commission of the Council of
Europe Gianni Buquicchio and General Director of the German Foundation for
International Legal Cooperation Frauke Bachler and others also addressed the
forum participants with welcoming words.
Representatives of Kazakhstan, Turkey, Russia,
Germany, Uzbekistan, Jordan, Morocco, Ukraine, Korea, Indonesia, Bangladesh,
Moldova, Serbia, Belarus, Thailand, Latvia, Tajikistan and other countries made
presentations on various legal topics at the event.
At the international symposium, Chairman of the
Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan Farhad Abdullayev made a
presentation on "Justice and Artificial Intelligence."
The presentations addressed such important legal
issues as “Protection and guarantee of fundamental rights and freedoms in the
Internet era”, “Constitutionalism during the COVID-19 pandemic”,
"Digitalization in Kazakhstan: achievements and prospects”, “Digitalization
and division of sovereignty in the European Union”, “Equality before the law”, “Information
security of the state and society”, “Experience of the Constitutional Court of
Korea in protecting fundamental rights and freedoms on the Internet”, “Online
election campaign: experience of the Constitutional Court”.
After the symposium,
an online meeting was held with the participation of the Association of Asian
Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions, as well as constitutional
courts that are members of the Eurasian Association of Constitutional Review
Bodies. At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on a number of upcoming
events.
