On June 8, Chairman of the Constitutional Court Farhad
Abdullayev met with the delegation headed by the Prosecutor General of Vietnam Nguyen
Huy Tien.
Welcoming the guests, the Chairman of the
Constitutional Court emphasized the successful development of friendly
relations between Azerbaijan and Vietnam, noted the importance of expanding co-operation
across various fields, and highlighted the special role played by legal co-operation
and the mutual exchange of experience in the development of interstate
relations.
During the meeting, Chairman Farhad Abdullayev
provided comprehensive information on the reforms implemented to ensure the
rule of law and protect human rights and freedoms in the country, as well as on
the mechanisms for exercising constitutional review; he also spoke in detail
about the activities of the Constitutional Court, as well as the
decision-making procedure and the work done in this area.
Expressing his gratitude for the warm reception and
satisfaction with the development of relations between Azerbaijan and Vietnam,
Prosecutor General Nguyen Huy Tien emphasized that expanding co-operation in
the judicial and prosecutorial spheres aligns with mutual interests and noted
that future exchanges of experience and joint initiatives would be beneficial
for the legal sectors of both countries.
Along with it, the parties exchanged views on the
development of constitutional justice, international co-operation in the
judicial-legal sphere, and other issues.
The meeting concluded with the exchange of gifts and the taking of a commemorative photo.
