Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan Farhad
Abdullayev has visited Chisinau, Moldova to attend the International Conference
on "The role of constitutional justice in protecting the values of the
rule of law" on the occasion of the 20th Anniversary of the Constitution
of the Republic of Moldova organized by the Constitutional Court of the
country.
Addressing the event, President of Moldova Nicolae
Timofti spoke about the role of Constitution and Constitutional Court in
building the democratic state.
The event saw speeches by President of the Parliament of Moldova Igor Corman,
Prime Minister Yuri Lianke, President of the Constitutional Court Alexandru
Tanase, and Chairman of the Council of Europe Venice Commission Jani Bukikio.
Chairman of the Constitutional Court of Azerbaijan Farhad Abdullayev provided
an insight into the activities of the country`s court.
As part of the conference, the participants were
informed about the adoption of the Constitution of the Republic of Moldova and
the activity of the Constitutional Court, as well as judicial and legal reforms
conducted in Moldova for the country`s becoming member of the EU.
As part of the visit, the Azerbaijani and Moldovan
delegations discussed how to develop cooperation between the two countries in
the fields of constitution and justice.
