Meeting with the Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan

On August 4 a meeting with Turkish Ambassador to Azerbaijan Cahit Bagci was held at the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Chairman of Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev congratulated Cahit Bagci in connection with his appointment as the new ambassador of fraternal Turkey to our country. Chairman wished to ambassador success in his honorable and responsible activities, which will serve to expand relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey. Farhad Abdullayev expressed confidence that the diplomat will make a valuable contribution to the development of ties between the two fraternal countries.

It was stressed that as a result of the successful policy implemented by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan, relations between our countries are developing rapidly.

Chairman noted that the news about the severe forest fires that began on July 29 in various regions of fraternal Turkey and their consequences extremely saddened the employees of Constitutional Court. By the instructions of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, several teams of fire-fighting forces of Ministry of Emergency Situations and special equipment went to a fraternal country to extinguish fires in Turkey and prevent their spread. The State and people of Azerbaijan, as always, are now in solidarity and are close to the fraternal Turkish people.

Expressing gratitude to Chairman of Constitutional Court Farhad Abdullayev for high hospitality and congratulations, Ambassador of Turkey Cahit Bagci spoke about the great role of diplomatic missions in the development and expansion of fraternal ties between the two countries. Ambassador thanked for the support of fraternal Azerbaijan in extinguishing the large-scale fires that occurred in the southern provinces of Turkey. The diplomat noted that our States and peoples are always next to each other.

At the meeting, it was noted that the valiant Azerbaijani army under the leadership of the President, victorious Supreme Commander Ilham Aliyev won a historic victory in the 44-day Patriotic War for the restoration of territorial integrity and liberation from the Armenian occupation of the ancestral lands of our country. The Turkish State, which has demonstrated its brotherly support of Azerbaijan in righteous struggle, has once again proved to be a State defending international law and international justice. The protection by the Republic of Turkey of the right cause of our State and people in the struggle for liberation from Armenian occupation of the ancestral lands of the Republic of Azerbaijan is a true example of brotherhood.

The diplomat, in particular, noted that in the 44-day Patriotic War, the Turkish people were next to the Azerbaijani people. All of us have once again witnessed that the sayings of the great leader Heydar Aliyev "One nation, two states", as well as Mustafa Kemal Ataturk "The joy of Azerbaijan is our joy, sorrow - our sorrow" are an unshakable truth.

Noting that relations between our countries, built on the basis of high-level cooperation and brotherhood, are inviolable, the ambassador said that he would make every effort to further strengthen these ties. The diplomat said that during the trip to the territories liberated from occupation, he witnessed the grave consequences of the 30-year occupation policy of Armenia.

It was stressed that the signing of the Declaration on Allied Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Turkey in the city of Shusha on June 15 of this year will remain in our memory as a significant historical event. The Shusha Declaration is guided by the principles of independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, inviolability of internationally recognized borders, non-interference in the internal affairs of States, is aimed at protecting and ensuring national interests, is important from the point of view of determining political and legal mechanisms of allied relations between two countries implementing an independent foreign policy.

It was brought to the attention that the Baku Declaration, signed as a result of the first tripartite meeting between the Presidents of the Parliaments of Azerbaijan, Turkey and Pakistan on July 27, is an indicator of the strengthening of ties between our countries in all areas.

At the end of the meeting, it was noted that the Azerbaijani-Turkish brotherhood, friendship is eternal, comprehensive cooperation will continue to develop successfully.
